Farmhouse Frocks

What do you do when someone sends you a message and tells you they would like to share one of their beautiful Farmhouse Frocks with you?

Of course, you tell them yes and thank you so much.

Lena from Farmhouse Frocks offered to send me a beautiful piece of her handmade clothing.  You see, there is a connection here…she is Farmhouse Frocks and I am Farmhouse Dreams, so we just go together.  Peanut butter and jelly, chips and salsa, me and chippy white furniture, Farmhouse Frocks and Farmhouse Dreams….all good combos.

I wanted to share the lovely tunic that Lena made and sent to me so I decided to let my oldest daughter be my model.  Oh my, it was fun taking pictures of my beautiful blonde headed baby girl.

Since it was snowing and cold outside, we decided to layer with a long sleeve white t-shirt and denim jacket.

Lena also sent this beautiful lace headband that looked gorgeous in Beth’s hair.

Isn’t this a gorgeous Farmhouse Frock?

If you are interested in seeing more of Lena’s pieces, please go take a look at her Farmhouse Frocks facebook page

Oh, and she makes delicious granola, and she lives in beautiful Amish country, and she has a beautiful decorating style, and…well, just go take a look for yourself.

Sidenote…Beth is so not a girly girl and typically wears jeans, sweatshirts or t-shirts.  I had to do some coaxing to get her to model for me and I am so thankful she agreed.  I love having these “dressed up” photos of her.  And, she actually loved her outfit.

Thanks Lena.  Your frocks rock!!  (corny, I know)

Blessings to you all.

The Pretty Lady

It’s snowing in middle Tennessee!

It rarely ever snows in Tennessee.

Like never snows where I live.

I have had all three of my children home since Monday as college classes were canceled and work was done from home.

To say I have been one happy mama is an understatement.

For my kids, sleeping late was the top thing on their lists to do.  While they slept in, I changed a few things up on my mantel.

I decided it was a good time to bring this pretty lady out since she makes me think of spring with her bare feet and gathering basket.

Look at those bare feet.  Reminds you of summer time, doesn’t it?

Do I even need to say anything about lavender in an ironstone pitcher?

Obviously, I move everything when we start a fire.

Loving the grainsack pillows stashed in this old laundry basket.

Loving the snow today, but also anticipating the warm days of spring.

Thankful for all seasons and what each one holds.

I also want to take a minute and say Happy Birthday to my sisterfriend in Louisiana.  Becky, I love you and I celebrate you and our friendship today and everyday.

Blessings to you all.

The Farm Table

I am a very visual person.

I love visually appealing things to surround me in my everyday life and everyday activities.  If you have been around my blog long enough, then you know that fancy and sophisticated does not mean much to me.  Give me neutral and simple anytime, and I am happy.

When it comes to the area where my youngest and I do our school, simple suits us both just fine.  So glad that she likes her mama’s style.

This beautiful old farm table makes a great school desk for she and I both to sit at when we need to do things together.

Speaking of homeschooling…
We have homeschooled all three of our children.   Hard to believe we have already graduated two and are now on our last one.
What a gift to have been able to teach all of our kiddos at home.

I know, I know, it looks dirty, but it’s really not.

That’s character, mom, I promise…

This 1898 diploma hangs as a focal point and reminds us of our goal at hand.  Graduation will come before we know it.

A great old crate holds our school books and this crate is pretty special to me.

Quick story…A friend of mine and myself were on the endless yardsale this past summer when I spotted this crate with my maiden name of Montgomery on it.  It actually had Montgomery Dairy on it.  My family had a dairy farm many years ago.  Now, it wasn’t named Montgomery Dairy but that didn’t matter.  I loved it and wanted it.  I have to say it was pricier than most things I buy like this, but under the circumstance of what it said and that my dad at that time was very sick and in the hospital, I knew I couldn’t pass it up.  So thankful I bought it as my dad passed away a few months later.

What a special reminder.

The seat I sit on was a gift from my precious friend Linsey at Brave Hearted Beauty for helping her with a barn sale several years ago.

And, Faith’s seat is filled with a great pillow from my sweet, funny friend Beth at Olde Tyme Marketplace.

A visually appealing spot to do our school work every day makes this teacher a happy teacher.

I hope you are all doing great.

Are you as ready for spring as I am?  I usually don’t like rushing the seasons, but this year, I’m ready for winter to be over.

Blessings to you all and thanks for stopping by.

Hey, if you have a minute, I would love for you to check out my Farmhouse Dreams Facebook page and like it.  Thanks…
