Using Dried Flowers

Hey my friends.

I really wanted to share a favorite thing of mine with you all today.

Of course, I love fresh flowers, but I also love dried flowers and think they make a beautiful filler in a variety of containers.

Take a look at some of the places I use them…

Love me some dried flowers.

Guess what I got today?

Cotton stalks…like straight from the ground cotton stalks.  Oh, how I cannot wait to do something with that beautiful, soft, perfect cotton.

I’ll show you when I figure out where it’s going to go.

Another cool thing I want to share….

I have been asked to be a part of a brand new shop that’s opening up in our area.  It is on the beautiful historic square of Manchester, Tennessee.

The name…High Cotton.

Isn’t that an awesome name?

I will be consigning some of my wonderful vintage treasures and some of my repurposed and upcycled items.

If you are around this area on November 16, stop by High Cotton on the square in Manchester and say hello.

Be blessed my friends.

My Cozy Little Corner In the Living Room

Hey friends.

How are you?

I am great!!

Do you have favorite little areas in your home?

I have a little corner in my living room where I love to sit.  It has a favorite table of mine where I like to sit and study, check my computer, read, etc.  The table was built by my sister friend's husband, Shannon.  It was actually my birthday present from him.  Yes, I was so thankful for a gift made by such a wonderful carpenter and friend.

I also love the little gallery wall above where I sit.  Several of my favorite things are hanging right there for me to look at.

The burlap heart was made by my youngest daughter.

The little gown was worn by my father many years ago.  The old photo is him.

I love pillows!

corner 4

Are you surprised that 9 is my favorite number?

The olive bucket was a gift from my sister friend, Becky.

I found my cow “artwork” in an old encyclopedia.  Stuck it with tape to an old frame that I painted chalkboard paint on.

corner 9

Made this little lampshade with torn strips of an old white sheet.  Love the casualness of it. (it’s safe)

corner 8

This old paper wreath was a first project of mine about three years ago.  I am still loving it!

Love being able to sit in the living room here in my cozy little corner and do what needs to be done.  And, love when my family are all in here with me.

Be blessed my friends.

Fall In Our Dining Room

I have so enjoyed having a few extra minutes this week to get back in touch with my blogging friends.

Just wanted to share a few more photos of fall around our house.

These pictures are from our dining/school room.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

I have to say how refreshing it is for me to not feel “obligated” (for lack of a better word) to have to blog two or three times a week.

Who was I obligated to?

I have let myself off the hook and it’s freeing to me to just blog when I want to and not because I feel like I have to.

Again…all pressure was pressure I put on myself.

Hey, let me tell you real quickly what I am doing tomorrow through Saturday.

I am going to be helping at THIS amazing pop-up Barn Sale hosted by City Farmhouse out of Franklin, Tennessee.

Who I am helping?

Linsey from LLH Designs

Linsey and I became friends around this time last year when God truly brought us together.  Like really put us in the same store at the same time and so on and so on.  Really cool story.

I cannot wait!!

I will be helping Linsey set up her booth and work it on Friday and Saturday.   She thinks I am doing her a favor by helping.  I am trying to explain to her how amazingly excited I am and that she is really doing me a favor by allowing me to help her.

There will be vendors from all over that I hope to meet.  Joy from Savvycity Farmer will even be there.  Can’t wait to meet her.

Excitement…excitement.  I love the excitement and the adventure.

Subtle and Simple Fall

Hey friends!

Life is good here!  I hope it is with you as well.

I had a few extra minutes and wanted to take a few pictures of some of the fall fluffing I’ve been doing.

It’s simple, but I like simple.

I made the little burlap wreath hanging off of the old tin.  Such an easy project.

The little burlap pumpkin was also a simple fall project.

If you know me at all, then you know I love things that are family heirlooms.  The old ribbon hanging from the ironstone pitcher was won by my grandfather while showing Jersey cows.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at our living room.

I hope to post a few pictures of our dining room as well in a few days.

So glad I can pop in and out when I have time and still be able to stay in touch with all of you.

Abundant Blessings from Tennessee!!
