Busy and Blessed

Hey friends!

Whew!!!  My days are full but good.

My son has been gone all summer working at summer camp.  He comes home on Saturdays and I do his laundry and then he goes back.

My husband has traveled off and on all summer to Washington and now California.    Our oldest daughter traveled with him to California, which is where they are now.

My youngest daughter and I spent a few days visiting the beautiful city of Franklin, Tennessee, where we shopped, ate, swam, made and visited with new friends, ate some more.

We ate at a wonderful restaurant in Brentwood, near Franklin, called the Puffy Muffin.  Oh my, it was beyond fabulous.

We went to Leiper’s Fork, which was just featured in Country Living magazine, and ate lunch with a new blogging friend that the Lord put right in my pathway.(literally)   Such a great story, but probably too long.  Trust me that God will direct our steps if we ask Him to and He will put us exactly where He wants us to be and when He wants us to be there.  I have been asking the Lord every day to direct my steps throughout the day.

Went to the Nashville Flea Market last weekend and had a blast.  Picked up some great new things.  Copper is my latest desire.

Have gotten to spend extra time with my brother and sister-in-law recently and have been truly blessed by it.  So thankful for family.

Gotten to celebrate the end of my mom’s treatments and getting her port removed.  Celebrating hair growing back!  She is beautiful…always has been.

Had my pretend barn sale, which went great.  Would love a barn so I could have the real thing.

Growing and working in our  garden that is booming right now.

Gathering over a dozen eggs a day from our hens.

Thankful for farm fresh eggs and fresh homegrown veggies.

Getting ready to celebrate my 44th birthday.  Wow!  I can’t believe it.  Thankful to be alive, healthy, and loved by the One who matters.

Working on some home projects that I will be sharing soon.

Blessings to you all!

Layering the Shelves

Hi everyone!

As always, I have been adding to and taking away.

As much as I am trying to have more simplicity in our home, I also love layering things.  I go from one or two things on a shelf to adding layers of things.

I guess it’s the mood I am in.

These chippy white shelves go through transformations often.

I liked the simplicity of these shelves for awhile but needed a change up.

I actually tried to fill in with some special things that I wanted to “show off” a little.

I love using different textures and different  shades of white.  I also love the silver mixed in with the white.

Yep, the layered look looks good to me…for now!

I just have to tell you what we are fixing to do after I get finished here.   My husband just bought a canoe and a couple of kayaks.  We are going to the lake and I cannot wait!

Have a great rest of your day, friends.  Blessings to you all.

Simple Summer Mantel Fix Up

Hi all!

Hope you have had a wonderful week.

While most of my family were out of town today, and my son caught up on needed sleep, I did some easy change ups in a couple of my rooms.

My kitchen got some pretty cool changes as did a few spots in my living room.

Freshening up my house, freshens up my spirits.  You know exactly what I mean, don’t you?

I have a good friend who grows beautiful flowers and has been generously sharing with me.  Her gorgeous blue hydrangeas are now adorning my mantel.

Isn’t that a gorgeous color?

Oh, how I wish they would last forever in all their brightness.

I also added a small bouquet to this little rusty crusty shelf that I pulled out of the dirt at an old house.

I love the blue globe sitting next to the blue blooms.  Such a cheery sight for me to look at.

This little table sits right next to my big comfy recliner and is where I keep a lot of my magazines and books.  Easy access to good ideas.

See the grainsack pillows.  I got those while in Louisiana this summer and love them.  Hoping to get a couple more if at all possible.

Can I end tonight by just saying that I appreciate all of my friends I have met through my blog.  I truly appreciate each and every comment you leave for me.  I appreciate your friendship and more than that, I appreciate prayers that have been said for my family over the last year.  I feel blessed to have you all in my life.

Good night…

Pallet Tray

Hey friends!

Hope you are all doing well.  Me…I am just fine.

I  showed you in my last post the outdoor pallet table that my oldest daughter made for our deck.  I also told you that my youngest daughter helped her daddy build me a beautiful tray out of pallet wood.

I want to show you the tray so you will see just how talented both of our daughters are.  Let me tell you that our son is super talented also, but his talents lie in all things electronic.

This is my pallet tray…

Isn’t this just great!

They tore apart the pallets, sawed off what they didn’t need and even made handles on both ends.  This is one heavy tray.

What a versatile piece.  I will use it here for awhile to house our drinking jars, but it would also be a great tray to carry things in and out of the kitchen if we are dining outdoors.

Handy and sweet children!

I pray that the rest of your week is truly blessed.

Outdoor Pallet Table

It’s over!

The Tattered and Timeless pretend barn sale is over, and it went very well.  I would love for this to grow into something bigger.  I have a vision.  I am praying for God’s will on what He would have it to become.

I am taking a short etsy vacation to think, pray, and decide.  I need a little break from etsying.  I am going to focus a little more time on my blog, on taking better photos, but mostly on having a fun summer.

You know that I always love to show you projects that my oldest daughter does for me.  This one is absolutely no exception.  She knocked this one over the fence.

Up on this deck…

My husband had actually put a base together for another outdoor table so Beth was able to use that.  She did the rest.

table 1

Can I just say that I think she did an outstanding job?  I love it just like I love everything else she does for me..like hanging lights, helping me paint, building tv tables, spending time with me…being my daughter.

It thrills me that this child is so handy and that she enjoys doing things like this.

My youngest daughter has started down the same path as her big sister in the building department.  I will show you soon the pallet project that she and her daddy did for me.  It goes in my kitchen and is fabulous!

Did you by any chance notice the 2x4’s on the deck railing?  Those are for our big screen we hang up for outdoor movie nights.  Such fun!

Hope you are all doing well.  I have missed chatting and am glad to be settled in now for a fun and relaxing summer.

Summer Bucket List

Hey all!

What a beautiful weekend my family has had.  The weather was perfect and we got lots of things done that we needed to get done.

I have to show you one of my latest easy to do projects that I am having a blast with.

Look way down there in the hallway…

Isn’t this is a great place to have your family bucket list?  We all listed things that we wanted to do this summer.  Some will happen..some won’t, but it’s fun to think about what you want to do.

This was a cheap and easy project.  I bought an unfinished door at Lowes, primed it, and painted both sides with chalkboard paint.  Done!  My kind of project.

I got this great idea when I was looking around the beautiful blog, House of Belonging.  Go take a look at how great hers looks in her dining room.

Along with all kinds of household projects, I am also getting ready for my first all things vintage, repurposed, or upcycled yardsale this weekend.  I would love for it to be a barnsale, but I have no barn.  I only have a chicken coop.  Smile  I am just having a great big yardsale that consists of what I mentioned above.  Can’t wait to see how it goes.

I hope you all have a wonderful week full of blessings!
