An Unexpected Table Runner
Hey friends!
Boy, it seems like it has been a long time since we chatted. Our family traveled out of town for a few days of fun and family time before the busy summer gets really started. Our son left today to work at a Christian camp for a big part of the summer, but will thankfully be home on the weekends. My husband has quite a few business trips planned over the next few months so things are going to be a little different around here. The girls and I plan on staying busy doing fun day trips and some cool projects.
I did get to swing by the Nashville flea market this weekend for a few minutes and found a couple of neat things. One of those things, I really have no idea what it’s original purpose was, but I knew what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.
Isn’t this a cool wooden runner? There were also a couple of longer pieces just like this, but I think the small one did just what I needed it to do.
The light fixture came from Lowes and is an early birthday gift from my sweet mama. My extra handy daughter hung it for me.
I am so enjoying keeping white roses around our house right now. They seem to last forever if I change out the water periodically and they are so very beautiful and pure looking.
***I want to update you all who have been asking about and praying for my mom. Chemo and radiation are over!!! Praise God!!! Thank you for helping carry us through this time. You can continue to pray for her continued healing, if you don’t mind. Thank you with all my heart.
God bless you all, my friends.

Filling In the Blanks
Hey friends!
Just wanted to show you a couple of places in my bedroom where I, “filled in the blanks”. Blank areas, that is.
You know there is always something changing or being added to around my house. Yeah, you know what I mean because you do it to. ![]()
I added this little bench underneath one of the windows to bring in a little more of the dark wood as well as it has the great color green that I love.
I also added a little something to this wall…
Blank spaces filled…check
Much better.
Have a great weekend, my friends. Blessings to you all.

Cottage Linen Bedroom

Almost Done…
Hey all! Happy weekend to you!
After painting and cleaning my master bath and bedroom for the last few days, I think we are done.
Now the fun part comes. Yeah, you know what I mean. Now I can start making it all look pretty.
Remember, I am going from dark greenish brown paint to a very light paint. I actually used a color called Cottage Linen and I LOVE it!
I will show y’all what I have done in there real soon, if you are interested.
This morning, I wanted to show you what my oldest daughter fixed last night for me and my other daughter.
Look at this yumminess…
Oh yeah, this was scrumptious.
She melted chocolate chips and made a fabulous cheesecake type dip.
I think you are supposed to cut the strawberries and fill them with the cream cheese filling and then drizzle them in chocolate. Not us…since it was just the girls, we decided to just dip and then double dip.
This is a wonderful, summery, delicious dessert.
***
Gotta get busy!
Hope you all have a wonderful day and a lovely Mother’s Day.
God bless you all!
***
Recipe for the cheesecake filling: Mix 4 oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup powdered sugar and a splash of vanilla.
Hope you enjoy them if you make them.

What Time Is It?
If you know me at all, then you know that I totally LOVE an ice cold Diet Dr. Pepper in a bottle. (has to be in a bottle)
This is my drink of choice! No alcohol for this girl…just give me a Diet DP and I am happy as a clam.
I know, I know, they are not good for me, but I drink one a day. I enjoy it..I savor it. Just being honest.
I really think Dr. Pepper needs to let me do a commercial for them. A blogging commercial would be just fine. And yes, I would take drinks over dollars for payment.
Anyway….as for my sign…
I ordered this from Kijsa Housman Studios. Check her out.
I may be drinking more over the next few days because I am fixing to PAINT! I am finally painting my master bedroom and bath. They are a very pretty greenish brown and they have worked just fine for me, but I am ready to lighten and brighten our room now. Very excited to get it done, but dread the work of it. Thankful that my oldest daughter doesn’t mind helping her mama.
Can’t wait to show you some of the things we will be doing in there.
Okay…I am off to get busy.
Take care and God bless you all, my sweet sweet friends.

Pretty Little Can
Hey everyone!
Still wanting to show you a couple of little things that I picked up at the flea market last weekend.
I have such good intentions of putting some of these items into my etsy shop, and then when I get them home, I just cannot part with them.
Just a couple of photos this evening because I am sure you all have a busy weekend ahead.
The sun was streaming in through the windows and looked just perfect hitting my little bouquet of flowers.
I had no idea that tobacco could look so pretty. Of course, it’s not the tobacco that looked pretty but the little can that held it.
I found the little can and the galvanized tote at the Nashville flea. The tote is nice and long and has a beautiful wooden handle.
Another fun couple of pieces to play around with.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I pray it is full of blessings!
