Strawberry Patch Barn Sale

Hey my friends!

What a great Friday and Saturday.

Me and a couple of my best buds left early Friday morning for a day of thrifting.  We drove almost two hours to a beautiful farm in Hartsville, Tennessee, for our first barn sale.

After shopping the barn sale, we weren’t ready to be done, so we drove on to the Nashville flea market and spent the rest of the day there shopping.  Such fun!!

What a pleasure to get to visit with  the owner of the Strawberry Patch, Christy.

Isn’t she gorgeous!  And, look at that beautiful doggie of hers.

I believe that these lamps below were Christy’s creations.

Loving those bushel baskets turned into lights.  I have two identical baskets.  Now, I just need to hook ‘em up with some electricity.    And, don’t y’all think I need that “A” back there for Amy?

Love this romantic pink dress.  Don’t you?

I think Christy had about 25 vendors who were all wonderfully creative and had beautiful booths set up.

A booth that particularly caught my attention was one filled with gorgeous t-shirts and pillows.

Oh yes, isn’t this gorgeous!

So would have loved to have brought a pillow and t-shirt home with me.  These were fabulous with the crosses..just fabulous!

Sharon and Stacy own the wonderful shop, Girl Next Door Sundries and this is their Lost Petal Linens line.  They are located in Hendersonville, Tn, and you really need to look them up.  Sweet ladies.

One final precious photo…

I would so love for you to go over to Christy’s blog, The Strawberry Patch,  when you have a minute and tell her hello.  She is a super friendly Tennessee farm girl!

Are you wondering if I brought home any treasures from the barn sale and the flea market?  Oh yes, I did.  Will show you some of them real soon.

God bless you all, my sweet friends.

Ironstone and a Barn Sale

Hey all!

Question…do you ever have the feeling that you “need” to go into a certain store?  No, not really need, but “want”.    I hardly ever go into our local Goodwill because I rarely find anything that I really like.

Tuesday, I decided I wanted to take a quick run inside and just see if there was anything good on the shelves.

Oh my, was there something good.   Sitting all alone on a top shelf just waiting for my hands to pick it up, was this little jewel.

Oh yes, my hands couldn’t grab it quickly enough.  I turned it over and it read…J & G Meakin, Ironstone China.

Guess what the price read…$5.99.  Yes, I had an itty bitty heart attack.

This pitcher is about 12” tall so it’s a great size to make a great statement.

Such a great find at such a fantastic price!!!

Thanks to whoever decided it needed to go to my local Goodwill store.  I appreciate you and it!

Now some other quick but very exciting news!!

I am going to my first ever barn sale on Friday in Hartsville, Tennessee, and I cannot wait!

I met the cutest vendor at the Nashville Flea Market a couple of months ago and she told me about a barn sale she would be hosting in the spring at her farm, Starlite Farm.

The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale is beginning on Thursday evening and will on Friday and Saturday.

Take a look at her blog for more info…

Will let you know what goodies I find.

God bless you, my friends.

Old Copper Ladle

Hey friends!

Hope you all had a great weekend and that you will have a wonderful week.

We have been busy today with school, home stuff, and fixing to do some etsy updates.

I have already shown you some great things that I brought home from my trip to Louisiana and Texas, but there are still a few more.

Something that really caught my eye when doing some Texas thrifting, was beautiful vintage pieces of copper.

Aged copper is just gorgeous and when I found this copper ladle..oh yeah…it had to come home with me.

Just look at that beautiful patina on the ladle.

I even think the handle is gorgeous.

Old Barbershop Mirror

Hey friends!

Are you glad that the weekend is almost here?  I sure am.

While visiting with my mom the other day, I remembered an old mirror that was out in her garage.   I decided to pull it out for a better look and am so glad I did.

The mirror is beveled and beautiful but the frame is not really the color that I like.

When I turned the mirror over to look at the back, I was thrilled by what I saw.

Look at that wood and look at those words.  I love that it says Barbers Supply and, of course, that it was made in the USA.

What a great piece tucked away in her garage.

Love how the mirror compliments where the white paint has chipped off on my shelves.  I also like the dark wood because it balances out my oak fireplace on the opposite wall.

Oak fireplace…oak kitchen cabinets… trying to make it all work.  Smile

Blessings to you!

Fruit Of Our Labor

I want to show you one simple photo of how I spent my day.

See that bottom shelf.

The enamel pan holds the last of the apple butter that I made in the fall.

The other jars are filled with delicious strawberry jam that I made today.

What a fruitful day I had.

Roses On the Fireplace

Hey friends.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Ours was good.

Spent some time today picking strawberries with my girls.  Homemade strawberry jelly is just around the corner.

I wanted to share a couple of photos with you before I head off to the first softball game of the season for my youngest.

The beautiful white roses were waiting for me when I arrived home from my trip to Louisiana.  He knows what I love.

The beautiful red and yellow roses were a gift from my mom’s gorgeous rose bushes at her house.  I picked them yesterday while there for a visit.  They had a long drive home and didn’t hold up too well but are still beautiful.  My mom can grow anything.

I love roses.  I love tulips.  I love any kind of fresh flower.  I don’t have a green thumb so I tend to grow herbs and buy ferns.

Have a wonderful rest of your night.  God bless…

A Quick Change in the Cabinet

Hi all!

You know my new white cabinet I showed you the other day…the one I brought home from Texas.  Well, I have already changed her up a bit and am loving the little change.

When I first brought her home, I had metal locker baskets in the front cubby area.  They just seemed too dark in there for me and didn’t make much of a statement.  I had to come up with something different and decided to use another Texas treasure.

Take a look at what I put in there and tell me what you think.

I found this beautiful old ice cream freezer at the Canton Flea Market.  Love the wood, the rusty metal and even that great green strip there on the front.

Now, that looks like summer to me!

I also filled up my great old crock with my small collection of rolling pins.  I love the little bit of texture, height, and interest they add.

Much better….

Take a look HERE if you want to and see how I changed it up a bit.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Friday and that your weekend is full of blessings.

Chat again soon, friends….

Building Relationships Through Blogging

Hey my friends!

I am doing my first guest post today with the lovely Kristin at the Simply Klassic Home

Vintage Dough Bowl

Hey friends!

I have to show you another beautiful piece of history that I brought home from Texas.

On one of our many treasure hunts, I found this heavy,  huge, obviously loved and well used,  German dough bowl.    I know I say it often, but I totally love this piece and the history that it holds.  Can’t you just imagine a wife and mom using this bowl to knead her dough for the homemade bread she is preparing for dinner?

Okay, I really don’t know a better way to say this, but I have never seen cracks look so beautiful.  Forgive me for that one, but really didn’t know how to say it.

dough bowl 3

I think she is just gorgeous filled with old vintage linens.

dough bowl 6

You can see how big she is as she sits atop my coffee table.

My photos do not do this piece justice.  I would love for you to be able to see it like I do.

There are many things in my home that I could easily part with and could be replaced.  Not this one…this beauty is a keeper.

Hope you have had a blessed day and that the rest of your week is wonderful.

My New White Kitchen Cabinet

Hey friends!

It’s been over a week since we chatted.  Hope you are all doing wonderful.

We are home from a truly wonderful week with our Louisiana family…the Buckets of Burlap family.  What fun and what sweet memories!

This visit included lots of amazing shopping.   Two of the places that Becky took me were the beautiful LaurieAnna’s and the Canton Flea Market.    I really can only say, “oh my”.

I brought home so many new treasures.  Some will stay in my home and lots will go into my ETSY shop.  I will let you know when I get them added.

One of my favorite finds was a great old, solid wood, white cabinet for my kitchen.  What a story that goes with this cabinet but probably too long to share.  Let’s just say that God knows the desires of our hearts.

Take a look at what I stuffed into my van and brought back to Tennessee…

I so love this cabinet.  It really reminds me of an old refrigerator.

I will have lots more photos to share real soon of some of the other things that came home with me and some more changes I have made around the house using my new goodies.

Heading out to do some planting.  Have a blessed day.

Happy Easter, my friends.

He is Risen!!!!
