I am usually pretty intentional about most things that I do.
I usually have a reason.
Making Christmas ornaments this year with my girls was no different.
Most of the ornaments I made, had a purpose. They told a story. They shared something from my heart.
My Jesus is the Lamb of God. He holds the key to my heart.
Sweet little Jesus Child…My Savior
Pure…
Go and share Him to the world…
My wonderful husband born this year…
An old sweater of mine was repurposed into many Christmas crafts this year…
The blue and white ticking is a favorite thing of mine…
The little girl all dressed up reminds me of my youngest who loves to dress up…
The day we celebrate the birth of our Savior…
I used old sewing patterns to make several ornaments this year. My mother and mother in law both love to sew…
Coffee..no words needed…
More sewing patterns on both of these…
My youngest daughter made the sweater tree on the left. Such a beautiful ornament.
The little deer was a gift from a friend.
Just a simple little tree filled with heartfelt and handmade ornaments.

I will end this post on a little heavier note. After years and years of struggling with depression, my step-father chose to end his life yesterday morning. My mother is deeply hurt as are his children. We are all so heavy hearted. Please lift our family up in prayer. Thank you so much my friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. Praying for you and your family.
These are so cute - I just love them!
How sad that there are people who have no other out than ending their own life. A good friend of my daughters chose the same option Friday night. God take care of them. I love the ornaments Amy, and the reasons are so special!!
Oh-Amy! First off your handmade Christmas pieces are full of joy and love.
Secondly, I am so, so sorry to hear about your step-father. I have people close to me that suffer from mind-numbing depression and it is an awful thing to see. One of the worst parts about it is that it is so misunderstood. You wonder why they can't just "snap out of it"...but they can't. I guess when the pain here on Earth becomes too great to bear they feel forced to make a choice. I do believe that God, who is much wiser than we are, knows the deep soul of that person and judges thusly. Blessings and prayers to all of you-especially your Mom during the Holidays- xo Diana
I LOVE them Amy!!! Love that you made them all with your kids and the meanings behind them. Beautiful!

I am so sorry for your loss ... others here stated it more eloquently - but God does know our hearts, and is a loving and forgiving God - I hope you, your mother, and other family members can find peace in that and with each other. I will keep your family in my prayers this Advent and Christmas.

So sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in my prayers. My brother-in-law did the same thing not quite a year ago now, leaving a wife and three young children....so sad.

Oh my sweet friend. Find beauty in the simple. The Lord will be your healer.
I recently discovered that "saved" means, saved, healed and delivered.
May He, the Great Healer, heal your hurts for whatever the pain.
If you've read my posts, you know that I struggle intensely from depression and ask God to heal me daily. I am learning to trust Him and He is My Great Physician. I understand this dreaded disease and so does God. I know I would never take my life when in my whole mind. He would have had to not be of sound mind. I think that God in His wonderful grace understands. We in our humaness don't see the Big picture. I will be praying specifically that God will give you and your family peace.
Your ornaments are beautiful and I love the story behind each one.
Amy, I am so very, very sorry for your loss. I cannot begin to imagine what you all are going through right now, but I will be thinking of you all and praying.
