Shabby Girl (Bedroom)

Hey everyone!!

Our youngest daughter’s 10th birthday has come and gone.  For her birthday, Faith asked for a complete bedroom redesign.  Oh yes, you know that I was happy to oblige.  I was especially happy when she told me that she wanted to use pink and whites, ruffles, and even some “clean” vintage things.  Both of my daughters like some vintage but they don’t like dirty vintage.  They like clean old stuff and that’s okay with me.  I will keep the old dirty pieces for myself and be very happy with them.

Here is what we did in her new 10 year old shabby room.

We took her old room from a bright bluish green with polka dots to Spring Bloom pink.

We bought a duvet cover that is nothing but ruffles.

We changed out white wooden lamps with a new lamp dripping with “crystals”.

Faith convinced me that Lola belonged in her room now and not in the guest room.

Let me just show you some photos of her new room.

**  The lighting is not so great in her room, so the pink walls look different in some of the pictures.  The true color is pretty bright.

Have you ever seen so many ruffles?

Faith loves her new room.  She loves all the ruffles.  She loves that Lola is now in her room.  She loves all the pink.

Mom loves it too.

I don't think I've ever seen so many ruffles!! Wow, the whole room is so shabby and cool :)
Love the black stencil on the wall with all the black pops of color around the room. And the pink is just perfect. Looks like you all did a beautiful room makeover! What a nice birthday gift :) Looks just like her, I'm sure she is loving her new "big girl" room :)
Lots of hugs

Tell Faith the ruffles are splendid. I would enjoy them. This decor can take her to college. I am tickled at your "clean vintage" line.

Love how your daughter's room turned out. My twelve year old's walls are a dark brown with white and pink furniture and accesories. She even has the American girl doll with a white bed similar to Faith's. We've been wanting to change things a little and I recently bought a loveseat that I'm going to recover for her room. I would like to do gray walls with the white furniture or even paint the walls back to white and paint her furniture gray:-) Put it aon the list...LOL

Hope all is well and enjoy your weekend!

I love pink and ruffles, and this looks exactly like I think a 10 year old girl's room ought to look. I love the way you have the personal touches like the chocolate part in there, too. Isn't she blessed that her name is so easy to find all made?

And I love the dolls. Believe it a lot, both of my girls still have their American Girl dolls living in their rooms. I asked this week (since they are both home)if they needed to go to the attic, and got a thumbs down to that idea from both of them. Apparently, you can work on Capitol Hill and still be loyal to your childhood doll. Who knew?

AMY-- THIS ADORABLE! I love it...I wish all 10 year old little girls could have a bedroom as sweet as this. Little girls grow up to fast now days... this is precious.
Not too baby-ish...not too grown up. JUST RIGHT!

Just wanted you to know that I stopped by here this morning even though I had already read this because I felt the need to listen to your music. I love your choices. That first one on the playlist is an awesome song that makes me lift the hands right here in the den.
