Layering the Shelves

Hi everyone!

As always, I have been adding to and taking away.

As much as I am trying to have more simplicity in our home, I also love layering things.  I go from one or two things on a shelf to adding layers of things.

I guess it’s the mood I am in.

These chippy white shelves go through transformations often.

I liked the simplicity of these shelves for awhile but needed a change up.

I actually tried to fill in with some special things that I wanted to “show off” a little.

I love using different textures and different  shades of white.  I also love the silver mixed in with the white.

Yep, the layered look looks good to me…for now!

I just have to tell you what we are fixing to do after I get finished here.   My husband just bought a canoe and a couple of kayaks.  We are going to the lake and I cannot wait!

Have a great rest of your day, friends.  Blessings to you all.

Love the layering look, dear friend! The addition of silver with the subtle touches of blue are perfect for Summer temperatures!!! Enjoy your canoe trip!

I really love the "layers" of blue you mixed in there too! Its all beautiful. We bought a canoe early in the spring and have only been out twice. :-( We really need to take some more breaks from house building!!! Hope you had a fun afternoon.

You have a very pretty collection of items and they look great on your chippy old shelf. I am currently struggling adding a black tea set to my cream lace collection in a white and turquoise cabinet. I am inspired by how you added darker pieces to each shelf. I'm going to have to try this before I scrap the whole thing and start again.

Great "mini-makeover." I really like the tarnished silver mixed with the white. It reminds me of my grandmother's collections.

Hey Amy...I hope you're having a great summer. The first day of is tomorrow...yay! Gives us a reason to celebrate. Love the layering of the shelves. You just always have such lovely ideas. Your hydrangea are beautiful. I too have been picking those friendly little flowers but mine are white and lime green and look just lovely sitting in my window on my new patina bench...you would love it! Take care. Praying for your mama. With lots of love, Traci

looks great Amy...I too love silver - all tarnished

That silver gives it an entirely different look. I can't decided which way I like better so I'll just opt for a tie.

Of course, in picture #1 I thought you had a roll of toilet paper on there at first. I think I need my eyes checked.

And I saw the praise about your mom. The finish line has officially been crossed. Take THAT cancer!
