An Unexpected Table Runner

Hey friends!

Boy, it seems like it has been a long time since we chatted.  Our family traveled out of town for a few days of fun and family time before the busy summer gets really started.  Our son left today to work at a Christian camp for a big part of the summer, but will thankfully be home on the weekends.  My husband has quite a few business trips planned over the next few months so things are going to be a little different around here.  The girls and I plan on staying busy doing fun day trips and some cool projects.

I did get to swing by the Nashville flea market this weekend for  a few minutes and found a couple of neat things.  One of those things, I really have no idea what it’s original purpose was, but I knew what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.

Isn’t this a cool wooden runner?  There were also a couple of longer pieces just like this, but I think the small one did just what I needed it to do.

The light fixture came from Lowes and is an early birthday gift from my sweet mama.  My extra handy daughter hung it for me.

I am so enjoying keeping white roses around our house right now.  They seem to last forever if I change out the water periodically and they are so very beautiful and pure looking.

***I want to update you all who have been asking about and praying for my mom.  Chemo and radiation are over!!!  Praise God!!!  Thank you for helping carry us through this time.  You can continue to pray for her continued healing, if you don’t mind.  Thank you with all my heart.

God bless you all, my friends.

Well, first off, I am glad that your Mom is finished with treatment. Now to get back to herself, huh? I will continue praying for her and all of you.

That slatted mat looks exactly like the one we had in the shower of our boat when we had a live-aboard boat. If it is made out of teak that is probably what it is. You stood on it and the water drained out of a drain underneath it into a big tank.

Love your sweet roses, too. xo Diana

Yup - that does look like a piece off an old boat, Amy! But it looks even better as a runner! :) Praise God for your sweet momma making it through her chemo!!! He is good - all the time! :)

Hi Sweet Friend! Love your new runner!! I saw something similar in a shop called Love's Creation earlier in the year. It was a cool oversized trivet for the table! See...you are right on with what you chose to use it for!!

Glad to hear Mom is all done with her stuff!! Praise God!

Things are settling down here, and cranking up all at the same time! Working on shop stuff...big changes coming there...and working on my house so I can get into that spare room and begin to create my new studio/guest room! Can't wait! Told the girls that they have two weeks from tomorrow to have all of their stuff out!! Otherwise it will be given away!
Onward and upward!!

I have some other news to tell you, but I will have to email you for that!!

Love and joy to you, Amy!
Becky

I will say a prayer for your mama! And if you will do the same for mine that would be great. She had two rounds of radiation for lung cancer.. She is not well. I stayed with her last night and my sister is with her tonight. Praying for comfort and peace... Blessings to you. I love your light fixture btw...

So glad to be standing with your mom on the other side of the finish line. What a fighter she has been through this race she didn't choose. She gets the "Well done" of God.

And YOU get a well done from me with the light fixture and the table. I love the mix of that particular metal with the wood and roses. I would love you to do a whole house tour sometime. Of course, by the time you finish snapping pictures, you will have done another creative changeroo.

Also, your new light fixture looks great there... I have admired that same fixture many times. And I am so impressed that your daughter hung it... that can be a tricky job! I know you are proud of her.
