Old Barbershop Mirror

Hey friends!

Are you glad that the weekend is almost here?  I sure am.

While visiting with my mom the other day, I remembered an old mirror that was out in her garage.   I decided to pull it out for a better look and am so glad I did.

The mirror is beveled and beautiful but the frame is not really the color that I like.

When I turned the mirror over to look at the back, I was thrilled by what I saw.

Look at that wood and look at those words.  I love that it says Barbers Supply and, of course, that it was made in the USA.

What a great piece tucked away in her garage.

Love how the mirror compliments where the white paint has chipped off on my shelves.  I also like the dark wood because it balances out my oak fireplace on the opposite wall.

Oak fireplace…oak kitchen cabinets… trying to make it all work.  Smile

Blessings to you!

Well, how cool is that! The wood is glorious! And the words add so much character. What a great idea to display the back side...and the size- wow, covers a big space.
It really does look great with the white chippy shelf that I love :)

That is a really great piece - and you can get double duty out of it - typography & wood side or mirror side, depending on your mood!

What a pleasant surprise to find that writing on the back. Truly a great find the wood is a nice accent piece against the white.

Amy, I love the way you used the back side of this! I never cease to be amazed at the way you think and how you look at things. Really, this could be a devotional or life motivation post as well. Wonderful!

What a neat find with so much character.

When we first moved into our home I was overwhelmed by oak wood... it was everywhere! Slowly it has grown on me. I think the oak addition looks just lovely with all your white!

Clever Amy. The back has texture and great letters. I like the back of 1940's prints with their crackly papers too.

You're such a clever girl---and It looks good with the shelf unit and I bet great in the overall ROOM-SCAPE.
