You Share Something With Me, Please…

Will you do me a favor?  I would love a response….

This has been an interesting (for lack of a better word) year.  Our oldest child graduated from our homeschool high school and started college.  My husband ruptured his achilles tendon and had to have surgery.  My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemo.  We lost a very dear friend to cancer a couple of weeks ago and are praying for several other friends with cancer.  Whew….It has been pretty tough at times.

I try to remember to praise Him through the storms and really try to remember the scripture that says ..”the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the Name of the Lord…and.. that He will not give us more than we can handle.

Having said all of that, this is where you come in.  I want to share a few praises….things that I am thankful for this past year.  Then, I would love for you to share as many praises that you want to share.  It can be one or twenty one….whatever.  Just please take a minute and share something, big or small.

Here goes…

I am thankful that even though breast cancer is a horrible disease and I hate that my mom has it, I have seen my mom grow in her relationship with Christ.  I have seen her cling to Him and put all of her trust in Him.  For that, I am thankful.  I am thankful that she is my mom.

I am thankful for friends and family that pray.  I am thankful for friends who know what you need even when you don’t know it yourself.

I am thankful for three healthy children that are all saved and a husband that loves the Lord and loves me despite all of my faults.

I am thankful that God brought a new family into our lives this year.  This family has now become our family.  Mr. and Mrs. Buckets of Burlap and their children are gifts from God.

I am thankful that the Lord kept His hand of protection over my family this year.   I am thankful that His mercies are new every day and that He is full of love and grace.

Okay, will you please share something with us now?  Please, will you give us a chance to praise God with you?

Thanks for sharing.

2. My three children - all home schooled - grown and doing well - third going to college next month - second graduating in May and fourth - working his dream job.
3. My relationship with God has deepened through the good and the bad events in my life - I am in awe of God.
4. Making new friends this past year who are true Kindred Spirits
5. A beautiful old house to make ours and to enjoy and a beautiful garden
6. a laptop that has worked - one more year!

Hi Sweetie! I praise God that I can be numbered among His children, and that I didn't have to become perfect, or "good enough" to be a partaker of His grace. What a great God!

I praise God that He is with us in such intimate ways when we are in the midst of a fiery trial. Truly closer than any person could be.

I praise God that I know fear is not from Him! And that He doesn't want me to fear anything, but to be strong and of good courage!!

And I praise Him for you...your lovely spirit, your kindness, and the fabulous gift of encouragement He has given you, that you share so beautifully!!

May He richly bless you and yours in 2012.
Love ya,
Becky

Oh I do know how hard it is to Praise the Lord in the middle of a storm. I remember how hard it was when my oldest grandson was in an accident and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, and then again this year when my youngest grandson was in an accident and broke both legs severely and had to have two rods and many screws put in each of his legs. Today I can easily Praise the Lord that my oldest with the brain injury received the miracle that we were praying for and is completely healed, and the same with my youngest and his legs. He is well and can walk and run again. I know the Lord is always in control no matter what the situation is, but Praising Him when we can't see the end result is such a test of Faith. I Praise the Lord most of all that He knows how hard it is for me and He loves me anyway. Hugs, Marty

I will keep you mom and friends in prayer. God Bless

I am so touched by your post Amy. You have had a hard year. Our year has been tough too, and I have been reflecting on that and what the new year will look like a lot. The thing I am most thankful for is that no matter how tough it got, God always kept a hold of us. Even when we feel we don't have the strength, He keeps hanging on. I am so thankful for that and for the unchanging character of God.
Blessings to you in the new year!

Go re-read that, and then read my praises...

I have become more faithful and closer to God over the last year, starting with that post. I am so happy and it has made such a difference in our lives. There is a peace that comes with trusting God and I love it. I now, truly, Praise God daily!

Olivia's parents are expecting a healthy baby girl in April. Praise, praise, praise GOD! I am so incredibly happy for them! Praise God!

My friend at work, who has had 5 or 6 miscarriages over the past 3 years, is ALSO due this spring! Praise God!

Praise God for my two amazing children.

I will pray that 2012 is a bit easier for you, Amy!

I'm thankful for the way God allows trials in our lives to grow us - if we let them. I'm not the same person I was in many ways from 10 years ago - and that's due to a difficult journey that I'm still on. So thankful for friends to pray, cry and rejoice with! Thank you Jesus!

Hi Amy,

One thing I am thankful for are the Christian bloggers I follow. They have beautiful homes and great ideas--but they know what is truly the most important--and to Whom all praise is due. You, Melissa at The Inspired Room, and Elizabeth at Just Following Jesus in My Real Life come quickly to mind.
I am thankful, too for my grown children and the choices they have made--especially that to follow Jesus.
I am thankful that, though I live in a small home, it is paid for, and our Lord provides for our needs.
I am thankful for a husband who works to spread the Word of God to unreached people groups (via Global Recordings Network.)
Thanks Amy, for reminding me of the many things for which I have to be grateful--just some of which I've listed.

Have a blessed New Year!

Love This!

I want to Praise God for His Grace.

I want to Praise God for His Mercy!

I want to Praise God for He is my healer. Our Healer. He continually watches over us and is continually working in my Husbands life healing him from his massive (what could have been fatal) heart attack in May.
I want to Praise God for His provision. He has continually seen what we have need of and has supplied it in His own miraculous way.

I want to Praise God for His tender loving kindness and care over my family; kids, grands, Father, and brothers (and their families)

I want to Praise God for *A Place* ...He has gone there and prepared a place that where He is there my loved ones who have gone on before me MAY BE THERE TOO! In particular this year my Sis-In-Law died of Colon Cancer-- in July. My neighbor passed away of a stroke in November, right after Thanksgiving. And a very dear elderly couple both died; they were precious mentors for Christ to me and my family in my early Walk with Him. They died Dec 31,2010 and July--2011 (about 7 mos apart). I know I may miss them here-- but I'll see them with my Father in heaven for all eternity. Praise God!

I want to Praise God for the people he has placed in my life who are both an encouragement to me and like-minded; in that I know they share the burden to pray for our needs (whether physical or spiritual) if I were to ask.

Thank you Amy for this invitation to testify of God's greatest blessings!

Thankful for water, warmth, hot showers, plumbing, a house that is lovely too (oh my if you could see some of the conditions of the people we minister to- we take so very much for granted)

Amy ~ what a giving, generous, thoughtful heart you've been given. I am so thankful for YOU, my friend. Through all of your trials, you constantly thought of others, even those of us out in blogland whom you've never met. You are a treasure.

I am so thankful that everyone in my family is relatively healthy. Not to say that there are health issues, but we are still making it through each day praising God in gratitude.

I am thankful for the total unconditional love of my furbabies at my feet. I love them so much.

I am thankful for all the things that the Lord has provided me during the past year - my house, food, heat, money to pay the bills, and vehicles that still run.

I am thankful for my church family and for the beautiful music and prayer programs we have there.

I am thankful for all of the kindness, creativity and inspiration that all of my blog friends have shared with me. I have learned to step outside the box and to repurpose resulting in "being green" - not to mention the blessing of new, Christian blog friends!

Hugs to you, my friend! And Happy New Year blessings to you and yours!

Well, I'm very late to this party because I've been out of town. This is the first blog post that I've read in 2012!!

2011 wasn't a stellar year for us at my house, but when I think back on it, God has continually given me reasons to lift the praise.

We graduated our first child from college. What a blessing the gift of education and intellect is. She had been a scholarship student, too, so she was able to do it without a financial burden or debt. I thank Him for that provision.

I thank Him for his continual guidance and that though we seemed to be in His waiting room this year, we were not there alone.

I thank Him that in the middle of a recession that increasingly feels like a depression, my salesman husband met his quota with extra on top. Truly, He still gives water from the rock. What a mighty God we serve.

I thank Him for prayer warriors and a heart bent toward prayer myself. I thank Him for hearing me, whether I like His answer or not.

Mostly and truly, I thank Him for existing. It might sound dumb, but what in the world would I do if He didn't?

Amy,
I'm thankful for so many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon me...but I will share the blessing of employment. Last January, I faced my first lay~off of all my years of employment. Two months passed before a window of opportunity was opened unto me. Although, I may not be in my "dream job"...I have precious co~workers with which I work each and every day! God saw me through the depression by giving me a support group of Sisters from my JOY Circle, a loving and understanding husband, a tender loving son and daughter~in~law...and my aging earthly father's encouragement! I could feel their prayers!
May God richly bless you in your life as you continue to serve Him!

So very glad I found you. I am thankful that after a season of pain, God has given me rest. I love my mom September 2010 and my Dad followed her March 2011.
I am thankful for...
...a legacy of faith. My Dad was a pastor for 65 years. He loved people and had a servant's heart. My mom was his cheerleader. She was a student of the Word. I long to be like her.
...a legacy of love. I always thought my mom was the writer because she's the one who wrote us letters. After their death, we found the letters my dad had written to my mom. Oh my goodness, such love is too wonderful for me to imagine!
I am thankful for a man who has a consistent faith-even tempered and keeps me in check as my mama would say.
I am thankful for children who walk with the Lord. So thankful for the memories we had and continue to make now with our first grandchild.
Hope you'll stop by sometime and read my blog and follow me. I know that I will continue to follow you.
Keep leading those young that God has entrusted to you. That is the greatest investment you will ever make, as my daddy used to say.
