The Ever Changing Secretary

Hello All!!

This is the day that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Question…do you have a piece of furniture or area in your home that gets changed up more often than another?

I have several of those places but especially my secretary.

If you saw my last blog post on my new chippy green ladder, then you probably saw my secretary peaking around from behind.

This is what she looks like now with her new set of flea market scales, Goodwill bottles, yardsale botanical prints, etsy tool caddy…you get the picture….right?

Isn’t it fun when one area gets a makeover, then other places also need makeovers and then you get to have fun all over the house moving stuff here and there.  You all know what I mean…I know you do.

***update on my mom***
Today is a great day!!  Mom was having treatment number two of her second batch of treatments today and called me to tell me that her doctor said she is doing great.  Her numbers are good, she had gained some of the weight back that she had lost from not eating and she is just overall doing great.  Praise the Lord!

I have to share something funny she told me so that you can see what her attitude is through most of this.  We were talking about her hair being gone as well as her eyebrows.  I asked her if she was going to pencil some eyebrows in.  She told me that instead of the eyebrows, she was going to wear BRIGHT red lipstick and then everybody would be staring at her lips instead of her lack of eyebrows.    Okay, that was too funny to me!  Love her mindset.

Thanks for letting me share and for caring.

Love to you all!

First I want to say, I have tears in my eyes!!! Your MOM!!! Thank you Jesus!!!!! I was praying for her yesterday and everyday I think about the two of you and your family because of my lovely satin pillow case!! She has a wonderful spirit!!! So glad to hear about her!

And I'm thinking that your house looks like a beautiful shop that one might come across in a quaint village. I can smell banana bread baking and coffee brewing on the stove in a percolator type coffee pot! Friendly, sweet smiles from your children, soft kind music playing in the background and a feeling that everyone is welcome and can visit for as long as their heart desires!

Good Morning Amy ~
You have quite a decorating flair. I love what you've done here, especially how you take the time to place the right object, sort of like the finishing touch! I'm so very pleased to hear your mother is doing better and she hasn't lost her sense of humour.
I noticed your sprig of lavender in your pictures. My Mother once told me when we place a piece of lavender anywhere it is a message that someone we miss is doing very well.
Hugs Rosemary...xx

I love the lipstick story! That uplifted spirit really warms my heart.

And love the secretary too. Before reading blogs like yours, I rarely switched things up. I do now.

That last picture is my very favorite.

I love how you filled the caddy with balls of twine, I have a zinc caddy I adore but it can be hard to decorate with that , esp for flowers and such. Guess I have a new home for my twine. Until your next post that is:-)
