My Fall Mantel

Hey friends!

Wanted to show you my mantel that I have fluffed for fall.

Because I love my big green bottles so much, I decided to let them stay from my summer mantel.  They made the cut…

I also kept the old shutter over the mantel because I love the vintage pages hanging up there.

I got the peat pots at Lowes on sale at the end of summer and love the texture and fall color they provide.

I picked up the chalkboard slate while in Texas from the beautiful Laurieanna’s.

Can you see the little lock there in the Spanish moss?  That belonged to my grandfather who used it on his cattle.  It would lock together a chain that would go around the horns.  The YF is for Yearwood Farms.  Is that not so cool?

Can you tell how much I love family heirlooms?

Now you may not think my mantel is in keeping with the simplicity that I keep talking about.  Keep in mind, though,  that there is only one little lone white pumpkin up there and it doesn’t scream fall.

I do love the combination of the greens, browns, and neutrals.

Do you have your mantels fixed up yet?

Can’t wait to see what you have been up to in your home.

Linking up today over at:

I love old family treasures so much. They are my favorite thing to see in a home. I love the lock.

And those peat pots are an ingenious touch! Very harvesty looking.

It is just so Amy! I love it-it looks like Fall to me. It has loads of texture and looks Fall-like without all the orange and color. Now...wait till you see the orange I have out for the kids! xo Diana

I love your fall mantle! Love all of the vintage accents and especially the family ones. I didn't have my fall mantle scream fall, either :)

Love how it looks Amy! And the little, inexpensive peat pots are a great idea! I think I have a few left over from spring I may need to bust out. I also really like the book page banner/garland.

You mantel is amazing, Amy. The beautiful natural elements, the family heirlooms, the textures and the shutter, the bottles all combine to produce an artistic mantel vignette. You did a beautiful job!

Hi Amy! Your mantel is so pretty. I love that you kept the shutters and bottles (a personel favorite of mind, hehe) the addition of the books and peat pots is a nice fallish touch.

I'm loving how your mantel turned out:-) I just took a shutter exactly like this one up to my booth on Thursday and as I was deciding where to put it, i thought it would look cool turned on it's side with something hung across it....great minds think alike. Too bad for me a lady snatched it up before I even left. Oh well, that is the idea isn't it?

Take care,

Nice mantle display Amy! I love the big green glass jugs. I've been collecting green glass for a little while and am just waiting for the perfect spot to display them. I'm redoing each room in this house and it's hard to get in the mood to decorate until at least one room is finished!

It looks beautiful Amy. I do love all the elements you used. I need to pick up some moss. I have some in the trees but I know that it's loaded with bugs! Eek!
