The Kitchen Ladder

Hey everyone…

I have a love of old ladders.

Two of the ladders I have are roadside and sidewalk finds.  That means free.

The ladder I pulled off the sidewalk was in my bedroom for a little while but was recently moved into my kitchen where I am totally loving it.

It gives that corner of my kitchen a whole new farmhouse look!

I found the old galvanized feeder at the Canton Flea Market.  It has a cute little pig embossed on it.  Cute, isn’t it?

Who would have ever thought that I would have an animal feeder on my kitchen wall?

Okay, now I am headed over to LaurieAnna's Farmhouse Friday party.  It was so much fun last week that I am going back!!

I am also partying with Debra over at the beautiful Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.

And partying for the first time over at From My Front Porch to Yours for her Treasure Hunt Thursday.

I was guessing Rabbit feeder until you said Pig feeder! Clever idea! I never would have thought to do that! I may have to run out to the barn & grab my little unused rabbit feeder & put it back in service! :)

Happy Thursday!

You have a great corner vignette with the ladder. I especially like the linens and the j-feeder. I would have guessed rabbit j-feeder, but then we have new galvanized versions for our rabbits :) I'll have to wait until one starts to look old and then bring it in.

Oh, I love this ladder -- I had one years ago that I found in the weeds on our property -- it has long ago found another home -- wish I still had it :)

Amy, you have such a knack for decorating, you should go into staging homes! I have a ladder standing in my garage on the project list...love yours in the kitchen, did you give it a paintwash or is that it's natural color?

OK, now I can identify with this. I have an old ladder in my bedroom that I hang quilts on. The farmers in my family (grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles) would have thought I'm nuts; but I the look!

There are grape farmers in this area, and a popular way of decorating is with an old-fashioned grape cart (used to hold the crates for picking) and crate only with garden flowers in the crate. Now the grapes are picked with a machine. My family would have laughed to have seen the carts and crates in yards. How things change!

Amy, I have that same pig feeder, I love mine. I have it outside with perslane planted in it, does very well, cascading over the edges. Wish I had a blog so I could show it to you. I love your idea also.
