Hey sweet friends!
I have been on a painting spree recently. I’ve decided that when I get a little stressed, I paint, clean, organize, and change things up.
My family is getting a little paranoid at what I may do next.
My latest project was a buffet that my aunt gave me a few years ago. It went from dark to light…from boring to fresh.
See what it looked like before…
and what it looks like now…
Did you notice that even the lamp got painted?
Looks better, doesn’t it?
You know that I’ve got to show you a few more photos.
My mom made this great ruffled burlap runner that I use on the buffet.
Let me show you the runner that I am using on my farm table. I picked it up at Pottery Barn when I was in Texas.
I love the texture of this runner. So great!!
Now take a quick look at part of my dining room.
I know that I have a lack of seating at this table and am working on filling it up. Right now I am using old theater seats on the far side of the table but they really aren’t tall enough. But, for now, they will work because I need them.
I am on the lookout for mismatched chairs and hopefully will pick up a few more on my next trip to the fleamarket. That’s the plan.
My jelly cabinet is on the other wall, but I figure you have seen enough for now. I have done a little playing around with it also.
Okay, that’s probably all of the furniture that will be painted white for awhile. The buffet and the secretary were a big deal for me to decide to paint, but I am so happy I did.
Update for my prayer warriors…mom’s first treatment went well today and she said all of the nurses were wonderful. My youngest and I went and decorated her house for her birthday and took her some yummy and healthy snacks. It was a surprise for her when she got home from her appointment. Would love for your prayers to continue as the Lord brings her to your mind. Her name is Judy, by the way. Thank you.
I’m headed over to one of my favorite parties now. Come to LaurieAnna's Farmhouse Friday party with me. You will be so glad you did. Really, this is a fabulous party, come on.
Also headed to the wonderful Common Ground for her fun party.
Headed to Donna's at Funky Junk Interiors for her Saturday night party.
Linking up over at Primp Your Stuff party tonight.

Your dining room is just lovely! Where to start... everything looks great and has the vignettes that I think my dining room is missing. Love love the architectural pieces on the wall and the newly painted buffet looks great AND has such a lovely vignette on top. That mirror is a great and unusual shape and looks perfect there. Don't worry, you will know the right chairs when you see them. Hmm, can you guess that I really like the style of your dining room ;)Sending prayers for your mom, too.
Love your photos! The buffet looks terrific! The burlap runner is sweet too :)
The buffet and lamp are beautiful in white!
Hi Amy, your mom will be in my prayers! Sounds like you're taking good care of her. LOVE the buffet painted white. Everything looks gorgeous! xoxo Debra
Amy, very glad that things went well for your mom. I will remember her in my prayers.
Your buffet turned out beautifully. That would scare me to put that first stroke of paint on a piece like that but your success has given me more confidence. Have a great weekend. Shannon
It looks beautiful, love the vignette and the lamp too.
Your buffet looks lovely in white; your whole dining room is beautiful. Glad your mom's first treatment went well!

Hi Ames-I am sending up a prayer for your Mom, Judy, right now. God bless her as she makes this journey to wellness.
Love your newly painted furniture. I was supposed to do that this week but ran out of time. Hopefully, the first of the week I will get at it.
Your room looks wonderful! xo Diana

OK, this is by far my favorite piece you have painted!! Wow, what a transformation. You are so right, it's fresh, and bright--adds so much more of a farmhouse feel to your dining room. And it matches the awesome farmhouse table :) The lamp turned out great in white, too. Everything just looks so well together. Maybe while I'm there, we will find more chairs for your table.
So glad the first treatment is behind your mom now. Tell her we love her and are praying for peace and healing.
Amy - Yes, I love the buffet painted white! That round mirror above looks pretty good too ~ and no, I was looking at other details and missed the painted lamp so thanks for pointing it out. My favorite though? Ruffled burlap runner your mom made :)
Will keep Judy in my prayers that she gets through the chemo without being terribly ill and makes a full recovery.
A big painted white hug to ya.

Hey Amy,
It was so great to meet you while you were in Texas! Thanks for visiting Lone Star and I sure hope you had fun. I love your blog and also love the buffet you painted. I have one waiting in the garage that I need to get started on (when it cools off). Have a great week and let me know next time you get to Texas.

It looks fabulous Amy, I think the lovely curve detailing shows up so much better in the white. Will remember your mom in prayer:-)

I really love the change. It's bright and happy. Both the burlap runner and the table runner look great, especially together.
I'm so glad that she had a good first treatment. I keep meaning to tell you what you probably already know. Flax seed. They are a breast power food I've heard. You can put it in lots of things. I even stick some in my green smoothies some times.
I like the white and I like your accessories.
Love it, Amy. It really shows off the piece! Wishing God's blessings on your mom. Linda
Oh Amy! This looks fabulous, girl! OK...I have a deal for you! I'll come create up there and leave some things behind, and you can come down here and work some of your magic in my house!! Sounds fair, right??
Love, love, love it all! Simply beautiful!!
Have a wonderful weekend, sweetie!
Hugs,
Becky

Amy ~ what a beautiful difference that made in your dining room!! Wow! Great job! Changed the entire look of it to a bright, airy, elegant place! I adore that domed wicker cloche thingy....lol! I love your dining table with the wood top. I'm seriously thinking of stripping, whitewashing, and distressing my kitchen table top.....Yes? :) And rest assured, your sweet momma continues to be in my prayers. ♥

Where do I start? I'm loving this look! The buffet looks great white and that round mirror over it is beautiful. I know you've shown it before, but I'm more than a bit behind on blog reading.
I also love that dome shaped basket, your green tool caddy and the ruffled runner your mom made. I love big deep ruffles. Beautiful room Amy!
