A Little Lavender Love

Today was a great day at the flea market, my friends.
I found some neat things to add to my shop and to my house.  Love flea market days like this one.
I also love lavender.  I use lavender lotion, soap, body oil, deodorant.  I love lavender essential oil in my cleaners that I make.  If I see something fragranced with lavender, I usually buy it.  Totally love it!
I thought I would just show you a few places that I use this beautiful, fragrant flower around our home.

A field of lavender in my backyard would be an oh so wonderful thing.

Just an added note that has nothing to do with lavender…
I have been without two of my children this week while they have been at church camp.  Can I just tell you how lonely for them I am?  I cannot wait to pick them up tomorrow night.  My heart has two holes right now that desperately need filling.  Thankfully, I had oldest daughter and hubby here all week or I would have been pretty pitiful.

Lovely post--I fall in love with lavender everytime I see a posting of it--your vignettes are so pretty. My favorite are the herbs in their little pots!

Me too! I love all of the ways you have it sprinkled around the house! I planted three plants in a feeble attempt to grow the stuff, and although they are still alive, they refuse to bloom! I don't know if it is the Kansas humidity, or just the wrong cultivar, but I'm bummed! thanks for sharing yours with us!

Sounds like a fun trip to the flea! Especially to get new finds! Do I see new jars? Oh the lavender everywhere is wonderful. And all your vignettes are perfect. I still am in love with those little old glasses :) It all looks so pretty Amy!
I know you can't wait to pick up your sweet kiddos.
Guess what, ONE month until you get here!!!!!
Have a great day my friend :)

I love lavender too, I harvested a big basket last year from a friend's house and hang it to dry on my banister, you should smell my house. I have 2 different kinds, 3 plants in my garden, I think it's english and I have spanish in my front porch, the spanish is very different and the smell more herbaceous. I have a dried bunch on my night stand, before going to sleep I crunch a couple of buds and that is enough to smell lavender while I fall asleep, I have even made lavender sugar, syrup and cupcakes, have you ever tried lavender and rose ice cream? d e l i c i o u s!
Have a lovely weekend!

Love lavender and have a few plants but like you, would love a field of it!! I have bees and have been wanting to plant a small area with just lavender for them- lavender honey would be oh so yummy!

Hopefully your sweet children are back and filling those holes!

I think summer camp allows us to start letting our kids go inch-by-inch...they go for the summer for a week or so...and then a couple of weeks...and then they become camp counselors..and our ties bind us but we hold them a bit more loosely as they grow into young adulthood. The holes in your heart are never completely full when they are on their own...but pretty soon they provide you with other little people that MORE than fill those holes (God willing).

I love lavender too and have a spray I use on my bed linens when I sleep upstairs when the kids sleep tonight! xo Diana

So glad you made it to the Market. Love how you placed the lavender around. Your pictures are beautiful.
I wish it would grow here, but the weather is just not right for it. I do get some every time I visit my dad in Washington. They have fields of it near him.
Sure you will be busy soon, when the kiddies return.
Take care,

I love lavender too! In fact, I have been wearing a sprig in my hair all day since Adam picked it for me! I'm going to cut some to dry and keep inside as soon as this baby on my lap wakes up. :)
